new year, my dear

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and enjoyed it as much as I did, I don't think I've ever eaten so much in such a short space of time. I'm unsure why, but I really appreciated it more this year, what with all the presents that I don't deserve at all, I have such wonderful friends and family that I majorly take for granted.
Anyway, I really can't believe 2012 begins tomorrow. Despite this year having it's ups and downs, I've rather enjoyed it and (hopefully) learnt from the many mistakes made. Crazily I actually have plans for this evening, though the prospect of a warm house, awful television and lots of food seems ever tempting.. Especially when the person you'd actually quite like to spend new year's eve with is quite a distance away, going out seems a depressing prospect. I hope everyone's year ends on a good note and 2012 get's off to a god start (hopefully not hungover!)

Love always,

The nightmare before Christmas

Today has felt lovely and festive (as well as pretty chilly). We managed to wander to town where all our family friends tend to gather. I received some birthday presents along with yet more champagne, which my mother drank a tad too much of (resulting in her being chatted up by a man who told my father he was the luckiest man alive) creating interesting consequences. I really can't believe it's Christmas tomorrow, as much as I love the presents,  I think it's the atmosphere that makes it, with the endless boxes of quality street, seasonal films and everyone making an effort to keep the peace for once. Merry Christmas to everyone for tomorrow, and I hope Santa brings what you want!

Love always,

happy unbirthday to me!

18 at last, wow, and I feel no different whatsoever. Well, at least now I can vote and maybe sneak a sherry or two. I've received excellent presents coming in the forms of books of historical tweets, pretty scarves, alcohol, vouchers, a new fangled phone and money. Which I shall no doubt be spending on some lovely new clothes.
Anyway, France was exquisite.

The boy who's a friend and his family were kind enough to let me stay with them there for a few days. On my last day they made me a fabulous breakfast with bucks fizz and pancakes, fig 1&2. Image 3 is the result of cheap fire lanterns as featured in the final picture. France was nearly set to go up in flames.
Apologies for the very self related post, I'll be back on track with the clothing posts soon enough!
Hope everyone is excited as I am for Christmas and all the shopping is hopefully done (unlike mine!)

the weather outside is frightful

Well today's been rather chilly. I awoke to the pleasing thought of not having sixth form and after watching wonderful early morning television, was greeted by mass flurries of snow. Granted, we literally couldn't go anywhere as the roads were yet to be gritted, but still everything looks pretty.
Anyway, I'm (hopefully) flying off to France on Sunday and am at a party (unlike me I know) tomorrow, so I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and gets everything they want!

Well, today was my last day at sixth form and despite teachers making a concerted effort to get us into the Christmas spirit (quizzes and quality street in English, monopoly in economics) I am yet to feel completely festive. Perhaps it's the lack of snow or maybe just that we don't have a tree yet, but I'm sure it shall kick in soon.I'm off to le Francais on Sunday though of course am nowhere near ready and will undoubtedly leave packing until the last minute. Who needs organisation?

On another note, look at all these pretty clothes from 'celine'. Just some inspiration as there really is little point putting these beautiful items on a wish list..

Today I have done nothing more than play Shakespeare charades (a game I highly recommend) and have a chilly walk home.

Just some pretty things I would like, on my polyvore account.
So many clothes, so little money.

I do enjoy my monochrome, I go through phases of wanting all my clothes to be clean cut and minimal, then suddenly to festive prints and dozens of layers. The majority of today has been spent inside which isn't surprising looking at my lack of warm attire.

colour block tango

everything - Primark because I have no money

Pretty simple outfit for today, but I love the colour of this cardigan (which my terrible camera does no justice for) as well as the necklace. Primark is so excellent for jewellery especially when you're short on funds. Yesterday was parents evening, well, for sixth formers it's called ""consultation evening"" which went better than was anticipated. Today I think I'm being summoned to go Christmas tree shopping and if yesterdays weather is anything to go by the scarves and gloves shall be on. As chilly as it does get, I really enjoy the build up to Christmas, the evening shopping trips and the mindless talent shows and festive films on the television. Speaking of which my all time favourite film is on tomorrow (Elf) the script of which I can pretty much recite without error. I hope everyone else's Christmas plans are going well and plenty of premature mince pie and chocolate consuming is being done!

This weekend has been utterly marvellous. Yesterday was spent rehearsing for a play then off to see breaking dawn with a lovely friend I very rarely see. Both agreed on how we were very envious of Kristen Stewart, on account of her looks, as well as being in certain scenes with Mr Pattinson. Today was spent eating cake, wandering round fields half frozen to death and then having a meal with another lovely friend. I seem to have however, developed a cold for somewhere and odds are, warm clothing will form a large section of my birthday present.

Thought I'd join the generic bandwagon of posting a .gif of myself.

TGIF is all I can really say, I'm so greatful for the weekend to finally be upon us. I quite like the frosty mornings and early evenings that winter brings, providing the perfect excuse for me to wear multiple layers of knitwear. Tomorrow shall certainly be spending tomorrow layered up as I'm off to locate a Christmas tree in the morning (we go and dig ours up because we're abnormal) then off to the cinema with a friend who lives far away to see 'Breaking Dawn'. I've read the Twilight series, and if I'm being honest didn't mind them too much and find Robert Pattinson rather attractive.. though maybe in this one Meyer took a tad too far? Anyway, I'm sure my mind shall be made up soon, TeAm EdWaRd 4EVERR x0x0x0x

Well the strike provided a rather nice amount of time for me to leisurely complete my english homework, as well as other much less productive activities. E.g. christmas cake making & hot chocolate drinking.
Hopefully the weekend (and the rest of December) shall be spent doing much the same.

White Winter Hymnal

I think I might actually be starting to lose my mind. Although I was in school at 9oclock, my brain apparently decides to switch off to the idea I actually have economics and instead I sit in the common room making economics notes for an hour. Having realised my mistake (3 hours later) I rush off to my economics teacher (who thankfully is lovely) and hand him my work and apologise profusely. Apart from that, my day's been pretty relaxed. Well, perhaps different adjectives could be used to describe my slightly chilly walk home, but it left me feeling in a seasonal mood anyway.
As a result I now have 'walking in a winter wonderland' running through my head. I shall be popular tomorrow.

I haven't posted in a while due to the ridiculous fact of me actually being busy (shock horror). Also I usually look a complete mess upon return from college having being savagely attacked by the harsh British weather, not really in a fit state for photo taking. I actually really like this time of year, especially the build up to Christmas and my birthday (two days before Jesus if you were wondering) although I never tend to make a big deal out of it. I also have a great deal of presents to buy with no money which shall be fun, if anyone has any ideas of presents for ahem, boys who are friends, do share your wisdom.

Just literally ran down to the cricket ground by our house to catch the fireworks. I love how I get the same feeling when we go every year and how it's slightly cold and I'm surrounded by sparklers and hot dogs. I still can't believe how fast this year has gone though, and I'm imagining this one will be much the same.
Also, I'm actually selling this dress if anyone's interested do click here.

I wore this yesterday evening for my friend's birthday dinner, I love the forest green colour although it manages to look slightly more turquoise on the pictures. It was actually £13 from Marks and Spencers outlet, which I was dragged to by my mother, then spotted this tucked away in the clearance section.
Anyway, it was today Guy Fawkes planned to destroy the houses of parliament in which we now celebrate by eating jacket potatoes, toffee apples and nearly blowing up our own houses with homemade firework displays. Fingers crossed it won't rain, hope everyone enjoys their November the 5th!

Also, here are a selection of things I wouldn't mind purchasing from lavishalice, which I actually rather like. Prices are a tad cheaper than Topshop, although I thought some of the items were a little questionable. The majority is very pretty though, if only I had the funds.

Happy Halloween lovely people, I do hope you've all located suitable attire. I think this is the first year I haven't gone trick or treating which is embarrassing as I am 17.. Anyway, we've literally been eaten out of house of home by these mask wearing individuals, all that remains is about two haribo rings and a maryland cookie.

Also, I don't usually share this kind of thing, but this is something my (ahem) friend who's a boy made for me when he ventured to New York. This is literally just the tip of the iceberg for proving how wonderful he really is.

I can't even begin to explain how good this weekend has been. Friday I ventured to London with someone who means ridiculous amounts to me. By the end of the day we'd seen Big Ben, The National Gallery, waved to people at every possible opportunity, run after tourists and dodged fairs on the underground because we'd rather spend our money on tea. We then had to (literally) run for our train in order to get a seat we so desperately wanted. I hadn't done so much exercise since Year 11 compulsory PE. Still, it's lovely to actually journey outside sometimes ;)

I'm also so glad I took minimal amounts of money with me. I forgot how much opportunity for shopping there is.
