Confidence Boosting Fashion Tips - Lookbook Store Guest Post

Fashion Tips To Boost Your Confidence

This is a topic is feel is overwhelmingly important, because ultimately, isn't that what fashion really is? Creating an outfit that will make you feel the best about yourself.
So I have a guest post on this very issue from the lovely people from Lookbook Store..

It's been said that  putting together an outfit is like  choosing how you want the world to see you. Indeed, clothes play a role, albeit not directly,  on a girl's confidence.  That probably explains  why a lot of girls take the time to check themselves at the mirror most of the time, or spend countless hours shopping for the latest trends. The practice is not so much about who wore what but who look great. After all, if you like what you're wearing, you'll feel good. And when you feel good, it'll show in the face. So yeah, it may sound shallow, but clothes can help increase confidence.  To use clothes for to grow your confidence, here are some tips to follow:

  1. Identify your personal style.  It helps to have a clear idea of how you want to dress, what kind of impression you want to make and where you want to go. If you're in tuned with your own style, you’ll appear more confident in the clothes you wear.

Also, this may sound cliché but the saying, "Birds of the same flock together," doesn't always ring true. So even if it's tempting to copy the same style your friends have, if you're uncomfortable, don't. After all, if they're your friends, they'll respect your choice of fashion even if it's completely the opposite of theirs. Go for whatever floats your boat.

Know what best fits on you. If you’re wearing clothes that fit you properly, you'll be more relaxed and comfortable. And in turn,  you will feel more confident because you know you're looking at your best. That being said, if you're shopping for clothes at Lookbook Store, be sure to check out the sizing chart of the product you have in mind. Better yet, read the store's blog about how to get accurate body measurements to make sure the clothes you buy will really fit.

  1. Choose the right colours for your skin tone. Selecting the right colour for you is quite challenging, but it’s one of the keys to looking good and feeling great. So it really  helps to choose clothing colours that complement your natural skin colour.

Because the kinds of clothes you wear can increase your level of confidence,  it really pays to invest on fashion.  Do remember, though, that doing a fashion makeover may not change how you feel inside overnight, but,  it'll put you in the path to feeling good about yourself eventually.

Little Black Wardrobe Staple - Three Ways

dress - Primark
blazer - H&M
necklace - H&M
hat - Missguided
shoes - Dorothy Perkins
clutch - Primark

kimono - H&M
necklace - Primark
bag - Zara

shirt - Uniqlo
shoes - George
bag - Primark

I picked up this dress at the beginning of the summer with plans of wearing it to death.. Alas, I only rediscovered it a couple of days ago at the bottom of a uni bag with the tags intact.
Its versatility however was something I had certainly underrated.
Versatility is one of my all time favourite features of clothes, the ones that you can wear to a lecture and then pair with heels and saunter out for drinks without a total image reinvention.

Enter the little black dress, which I will not be overlooking in future.

Here are some of my favourites from Style Moi to hopefully get your fashionable juices flowing..

The ultimate wardrobe staple?
Discuss.

defeated no more

top - Motel Rocks
kimono - ebay
jeans - Primark
boots- ebay
necklaces - the magic ones

My mum informed me I looked like someone who was about to go and tell fortunes when I went out in this a few evenings ago. I can't help but stick to my monochrome comforts, but the celestial print mixes things up a little and I was lucky to find the crop on ebay for a pleasing £6 :)
Also hugely pleased with these pretty pieces from the magic ones, the camera really cannot capture the colours of the opal pendant.. Will definitely be purchasing more!

Won't look back

top & jewellery - Primark
jeans - Zara
blazer - H&M
boots - ebay
hat - Missguided

Super simple black and grey ootd just paired with pretty silver jewellery. I also enjoy how throwing a blazer over the top of anything has the power to make me feel formal and that I have an important meeting to attend. In this instance the meeting was actually drinks with some lovely friends, but that still counts, right?

Anyway, it's (*sigh*) almost time to get back into the swing of education after this gorgeously long summer, so am stocking up on A/W basics before I head back to Liverpool.

Have a look at my 'back to school' lookbook  on YouTube if you fancy.. Not sure how I feel about uploading videos myself, I'm certainly not cut out for talking to a camera so am sticking with lookbooks for now..
Please let me know what you think! :)

Finally I feel a little tumblr inspiration is in order..
